HISTORY OF THE LODGE

The history of the Certified Accountants Lodge is quite fascinating.

The Certified Accountants lodge was consecrated on 22nd October 1958. The Lodge is a member of the United Grand Lodge of England in the Province of London. It is a Metropolitan Lodge with reference number of 7582. At the time when the Lodge was consecrated the current Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) was called the Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants.

In the early years the membership of the Lodge was drawn from the Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants.

Under the current By-Laws of the Lodge membership is restricted to ACCA members only both from UK and abroad.

The Lodge in the past met in various locations in central London, and currently meets three times a year at the Headquarters of the United Grand Lodge of England at Freemasons Hall, Great Queen Street, London WC2 5AZ. Members of the public are welcomed to visit the building. It is on the tourist trail.

The Lodge has been honoured to have had amongst its members some of the past presidents and council members of the ACCA. Membership of the Lodge offers a wonderful opportunity to meet with peers and colleagues in a traditional Masonic setting. It inculcates a bond of friendship and a sense of brotherhood.
